Dry Cupping Therapy
Dry Cupping Therapy has recently grown in popularity but is actually an ancient practice. Cupping involves using small cups to create areas of low air pressure next to the skin. This low pressure creates a mild suction effect and is used to increase blood flow and stimulate the body’s localized inflammatory response to facilitate healing. It is also a type of deep-tissue massage.
Dry Cupping is a component within Tangelo’s method of manual therapy. Dry Cupping is used to treat pain and alleviate adhesions and restrictions in muscle tissue. It is effective in relieving soreness, tightness, and pain.
Functional Rehabilitation is a broadly used term to describe a number of soft tissue treatment methods. These methods include, but are not limited to, manual therapy, sports chiropractic care, cupping therapy, and kinesiology taping.
Often referred to as the Gold Standard of soft tissue treatment, Active Release Technique (ART) is widely used to relieve pain and increase mobility for people ranging from elite athletes to business professionals.
Sports chiropractic, also called chiropractic sports medicine, is one of the most effective specialties within the broader field of chiropractic care. The technique addresses the musculoskeletal system, using chiropractic adjustments to restore proper motion to restricted joints. It involves making adjustments and manipulations to the spine and to joints. Sports chiropractic care is widely used to treat and prevent a wide array of injuries.
Functional Range Conditioning
Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) is a system developed to improve active range of motion, protect joints, and rehabilitate lost ranges due to injury or disuse. This methodology enhances the usable range of motion while reinforcing joints with the tissues and neurological system that controls them.
Elastic therapeutic tape goes by many names. It is also called kinesiology tape, Kinesio tape, K-tape, or KT. The elastic tape is used with the intent of treating pain and disability resulting from athletic injuries and other physical disorders.
Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine used most commonly for pain relief and to stimulate and support the body’s healing response. Originating in ancient Chinese medicine, acupuncture has been embraced across the globe. Acupuncture engages both the musculoskeletal system and the meridian system. Its purpose is to rebalance local tissue as well as address systemic issues to promote healing and prevent further injury.
The Graston Technique is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization. Graston Technique is used to effectively break down scar tissue and restrictions or adhesions in the muscle fascia. The technique utilizes instruments designed to detect and effectively treat areas with soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
Massage therapy is systematic manual manipulation of the body’s soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments). There are numerous massage therapy modalities. Most include the application of fixed or movable pressure, holding pressure, and facilitating the movement of muscle and connective tissue.
