If you’re in pain, we want to see you. You don’t have to be an athlete to take advantage of Tangelo Health’s combination of Chiropractic care with functional rehabilitation. Our experienced teams in Seattle work with you through our comprehensive, modern and natural solutions to get your body performing at its peak and maintain the lifestyle you want.
Body injuries come in many shapes and sizes. Sometimes a car accident is to blame; sometimes, it’s a fall, sometimes you hurt yourself working out. Often, it’s due to small repetitive movements, bad posture or daily computer work that sneaks up on us. When we cause issues to our body, it reaches out to us by producing pain or discomfort (please feel to see the broader list of conditions we treat).
It’s critical to acknowledge and treat the pain, otherwise more pressure and stress gets applied to other areas of the body to compensate which increases the risk of additional pain and injury.
Our doctors have the education, experience, and dedication it takes to get your body healthy. Whether you need a spine specialist, someone to treat pain in your joints or you want help optimizing your athletic performance, our team has multiple resources to get your body parts working together, talking to each other, and finding balance and comfort.

TANGELO HEALTH’S SERVICE OFFERINGS
Tangelo Health finds the cause of your pain, and we create solutions through a variety of techniques that encourage balance in mind, body, and soul. Here are some examples of services we may provide you as part of your plan:
Chiropractic Adjustments
These spinal manipulations take only a small amount of pressure to the joint that’s causing discomfort through a targeted quick, controlled manual thrust, often offering the patient immediate relief from pain and restoring mobility. Adjustments can be applied to the back, neck, shoulders, and other parts of the body, such as hands and ankles.
The Graston Technique
Using tools designed to aid in chiropractic care, these instruments used in the Graston Technique break down scar tissue with much more immediacy and intention than hands alone. We will work through the tissues in order to restore soft tissue mobilization and help your body regain its proper function.
Active Release Technique (ART)
A non-invasive solution designed to locate and resolve soft tissue problems, ART will effectively break down scar tissue that’s formed in the muscles and tissues, causing pain and loss of range of motion, restoring proper function.
Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)
The SFMA test assesses movement patterns in patients experiencing musculoskeletal pain based on seven full-body movements to determine the best treatment options.
Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology tape is a specialty tape that is applied to hurting or aching muscles. It will help lift the skin, providing better blood flow, carrying oxygen to the muscles. This support will also ensure the muscles have time to rest and rebuild strength.
Cupping
Handheld cups are placed on the skin and create suction; this Cupping technique eases tension and pain by lifting the skin and tissues and increasing blood flow through the body and to the muscles and areas that need it.
Functional Rehabilitation Therapy
With Functional Rehabilitation Therapy, we design exercises and stretches specific to your wellness goals and abilities, performing them with us in our office and on your own at your home. We often include personalized emails with videos created by our doctors for your convenience. We find that rehabilitation therapy and chiropractic care work well together and provide a quicker, safer recovery.
MLS Laser Therapy
MLS (Multiwave Locked System) Laser Therapy is an advanced laser technology designed to eliminate pain and reduce inflammation in the body in a safe, painless, and non-invasive way. This therapy utilizes dual wavelengths of infrared light to penetrate deep into the tissue, which stimulates regeneration at the cellular level.
Spinal Decompression Therapy
Spinal decompression provides safe, non-invasive and effective treatment for chronic back and neck pain. Spinal decompression therapy is designed to relieve pressure on the spinal nerves and spinal cord by gently stretching and decompressing the spine. This non-invasive and painless procedure has proven to be highly effective in treating various spinal conditions such as herniated discs, disc degeneration, sciatica, and pinched nerves.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
Dr Mike and the entire team are miracle workers - they create a casual yet motivating and open environment. They not only find a way to give you some immediate pain relief but work with you on a personalized home program to ensure it actually heals and gets better, not just a quick fix. Don't hesitate to give them a chance!
I have had chronic lumbar disc issues for 10 years and have tried most things to treat it. Massage, acupuncture, multiple rounds of physical therapy, and a steroid injection 2 years ago. Anyone who has had a severe disc herniation knows that the pain is debilitating in the acute phase, and there is so much fear of hurting yourself again while recovering.
This time, after I got through the VERY acute phase of around the clock pain meds and muscle relaxants and could finally move enough to get myself to my car, I made an appointment with Tangelo.
Dr. Mike at Tangelo has an amazing multi-modal approach to caring for disc herniation injuries. The combination of chiropractic myofascial release (majority muscle, very minimal spine popping), and targeted physical therapy in the hybrid appointments is great for healing and building confidence.
Dr. Mike and the physical therapy team are great at quelling the fears that rise up when the pain isn't going away as fast as you want it to. I was surprised to be lifting weight in my early sessions, and it actually was helping the pain rather than hurting more.
I will say, if you have a similar story to mine, be ready to put in the work consistently and be patient. The hardest part about disc herniations is that there is really no magical quick fix-it. A steroid injection will only buy you time. Time to put in the consistent strength training and mobility work to keep your spine strong and allow the disc to (hopefully!) move back into place.
Now, one year later, I have minimal low back pain. I can weightlift and run again, and I have more mobility than I did before my injury.
If you want to build your functional fitness and reduce pain, this is the place to do it! I highly recommend them.
