All four of our locations have the same process. We’re a lively group of doctors and rehab therapists who want to start your recovery process as quickly as we can. On your first visit, be prepared to discuss your past health conditions, your current discomfort, and your wellness goals. Then, the fun starts. We will dive right in with your physical exam, determine a program you feel comfortable with, and start the healing process.

“I am a very active person and I had increased my training load for an upcoming marathon.  Unfortunately, I began having Achilles tendon pain and ankle pain with the increased load.  By complete chance I met Dr. Joe Farris and he was able to identify the problem right away.  I went to Tangelo in Greenlake and Dr. Joe worked on the pain points while I also received PT with Tyler.  As a team they worked very well and I really began to improve.  Things started easy, but they adjusted the difficulty such that by the end of 12 sessions I was struggling and the PT became intense!  I truly felt like I was building muscles that were underdeveloped.  I also have a new workout routine to keep developing these muscles to prevent recurrences.

“To say that Tangelo has changed my life would be the understatement of the year.  I was referred to Tangelo by my Orangetheory Fitness Studio, and I met Sean Masters, one of the Rehab Specialists, at a running clinic at OTF.  

My problems started several years ago, when I ran a marathon with an injury.  I have had nagging, but not debilitating, pain in my hip for years.  I knew the problem was in my tensor fasciae latae (TFL) muscle, and I had gotten physical therapy and ART therapy before, but nothing ever stuck.  I was also diagnosed with arthritis in my upper back a few years ago, and when my shoulder flared up, I chalked it up to the arthritis. I honestly thought I just had to live with this type of pain.

I recently re-committed to my fitness goals in a major way, and I knew I could not hit my strength goals without treating some of my long-term problems.  I have been working with Dr. Dave Mobley and Sean for my treatment, and the program has just been so fantastic.  Not only did I get treated for my issues, I learned to re-train my body and fix some fundamental movement patterns to improve my overall mobility and core strength.  With their help, I’ve even integrated the majority of physical therapy exercises in my regular workout routine with my personal trainer, so I solidify these habits for life.

“I visited Dr. Joe at this Tangelo office in November 2017, as I had been struggling with a bad case of golfer’s elbow for nearly two years (from rock climbing.) At the time, just the act of turning a doorknob was painful.

Well, after an intensive two weeks for consultation and rehab treatment, I started climbing again after a forced three-month break.  And since then I’ve been hitting it hard with CrossFit 4 – 5 times a week, in combination with training for rock climbing.

I never dreamed I would be where I am at today.  In less than a year I’m as fit as ever at the age of 37, and pain-free.  I’m climbing stronger than ever before (I started rock climbing 18 years ago), and I’ve also been able to completely recover from a severe ankle sprain and a shoulder injury that occurred in March of this year (mainly due to the experience of how CARs, mobility exercises, etc. can benefit me.)
