The Tangelo Method
Functional Rehabilitation is a broadly used term to describe a number of soft tissue service methods. These methods include, but are not limited to, manual therapy, sports chiropractic care, cupping therapy, and kinesiology taping.
Active Release Techniques®
Often referred to as the gold standard of soft tissue service, Active Release Techniques® (ART) is widely used to relieve pain and increase mobility for people ranging from elite athletes to business professionals.
Sports chiropractic, also called chiropractic sports medicine, is one of the most effective specialties within the broader field of chiropractic care. The technique addresses the musculoskeletal system, using chiropractic adjustments to restore proper motion to restricted joints. It involves making adjustments and manipulations to the spine and to joints. Sports chiropractic care is widely used to treat and prevent a wide array of injuries.
Functional Range Conditioning®
Functional Range Conditioning® (FRC) is a system developed to improve active range of motion, protect joints, and rehabilitate lost ranges due to injury or disuse. This methodology enhances the usable range of motion while reinforcing joints with the tissues and neurological system that controls them.
Elastic therapeutic tape goes by many names. It is also called Kinesiology Tape, Kinesio tape, or K-tape. The elastic tape is used with the intent of treating pain and disability resulting from athletic injuries and other physical disorders.
Dry Cupping Therapy
Dry Cupping Therapy has recently grown in popularity but is actually an ancient practice. Cupping involves using small cups to create areas of low air pressure next to the skin. This low pressure creates a mild suction effect and is used to increase blood flow and stimulate the body’s localized inflammatory response to facilitate healing. It is also a type of deep-tissue massage.
Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine used most commonly for pain relief and to stimulate and support the body’s healing response. Originating in ancient Chinese medicine, acupuncture has been embraced across the globe. Acupuncture engages both the musculoskeletal system and the meridian system. Its purpose is to rebalance local tissue as well as address systemic issues to promote healing and prevent further injury.
The Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization. Graston Technique® is used to effectively break down scar tissue and restrictions or adhesions in the muscle fascia. The technique utilizes instruments designed to detect and effectively treat areas with soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
Massage therapy is systematic manual manipulation of the body’s soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments). There are numerous massage therapy modalities. Most include application of fixed or movable pressure, holding pressure, and facilitating the movement of muscle and connective tissue.
We created a hybrid service method, blending manual therapy and movement. Our unique approach is a fusion of leading methods.
Tangelo is an effective alternative to traditional, siloed services. Instead of seeing multiple practitioners, our hybrid approach combines the most effective techniques to fit your individual needs.
Manual therapy and movement promises real, sustained results. Heal, and stay healed.
COMPREHENSIVE MOVEMENT EXAM
An extensive movement assessment looks at your body’s mechanics and systems to understand movement breakdowns that create imbalance and pain.
Your service plan is tailored to you and your goals. Tangelo service plans combine manual therapy and movement—a pairing proven to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and aid recovery.
Manual Therapy integrates multiple hands-on therapy and rehab principles into a method all our own. These service modalities draw from sports chiropractic, active release technique, functional rehabilitation, massage therapy, and others.
Movement is how the body realigns and heals itself and solidifies the benefits of manual therapy. Your movement program uses functional movements and exercise therapies to eliminate muscle imbalance and compensation patterns.
