GRASTON: THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB
GRASTON TECHNIQUE®
GRASTON SPEEDS UP RECOVERY TIME, AND BREAKS DOWN SCAR TISSUE.
The Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization.
The technique utilizes stainless steel instruments designed specifically to detect and effectively treat injured areas with soft tissue build up or chronic inflammation.
Graston Technique® is used to effectively break down scar tissue and restrictions or adhesions in the muscle fascia. The technique utilizes instruments designed to detect and effectively treat areas with soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
Graston Technique® is effective because it provides controlled microtrauma to affected soft tissue structures. The technique stimulates a local inflammatory response, which leads to the remodeling and repairing of affected soft tissues. The instruments allow doctors to precisely identify and treat specific areas.
Service with the Graston Technique® is conducted in association with a rehabilitation program designed to restore patients to their pre-injury level of activity by implementing a functional progression program, which focuses on imbalances throughout the kinetic chain. Flexibility, strengthening, and muscle re-education to provide optimal results within a minimal number of service sessions.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
Dr Mike and the entire team are miracle workers - they create a casual yet motivating and open environment. They not only find a way to give you some immediate pain relief but work with you on a personalized home program to ensure it actually heals and gets better, not just a quick fix. Don't hesitate to give them a chance!
I have had chronic lumbar disc issues for 10 years and have tried most things to treat it. Massage, acupuncture, multiple rounds of physical therapy, and a steroid injection 2 years ago. Anyone who has had a severe disc herniation knows that the pain is debilitating in the acute phase, and there is so much fear of hurting yourself again while recovering.
This time, after I got through the VERY acute phase of around the clock pain meds and muscle relaxants and could finally move enough to get myself to my car, I made an appointment with Tangelo.
Dr. Mike at Tangelo has an amazing multi-modal approach to caring for disc herniation injuries. The combination of chiropractic myofascial release (majority muscle, very minimal spine popping), and targeted physical therapy in the hybrid appointments is great for healing and building confidence.
Dr. Mike and the physical therapy team are great at quelling the fears that rise up when the pain isn't going away as fast as you want it to. I was surprised to be lifting weight in my early sessions, and it actually was helping the pain rather than hurting more.
I will say, if you have a similar story to mine, be ready to put in the work consistently and be patient. The hardest part about disc herniations is that there is really no magical quick fix-it. A steroid injection will only buy you time. Time to put in the consistent strength training and mobility work to keep your spine strong and allow the disc to (hopefully!) move back into place.
Now, one year later, I have minimal low back pain. I can weightlift and run again, and I have more mobility than I did before my injury.
If you want to build your functional fitness and reduce pain, this is the place to do it! I highly recommend them.
